Courses Offered

Evaluating Your Business and Market Potential

Designed for collision centers that are seriously committed to improving their operation, this process relies on the shared implementation of best practices and business improvement techniques.

Along with Axalta personnel, Westside Auto Paint and Supply will provide a very comprehensive review of your business, including financials, marketing, estimating, productions, repair procedures, detail, parts management, etc. Additionally, a market evaluation is available as well as other analytical tools including employee opinion surveys, a market share analyzer, industry benchmarking service, and Proficient™ Process Improvement Assessments. Knowing where your collision center is at will help know the direction it should go.

Inventory Control

Westside Auto Paint and Supply will organize inventory in your cabinets or storage area with items specific to your shop, label all inventory items, and set accurate stocking levels. We will check inventory and write orders weekly. This enables body shop personnel to control space and ensure a profit on paint shop materials and labor, as well as identifying waste.

Standard Operating Procedures

Consistent quality occurs when standard operating procedures are used throughout the shop. Westside Auto Paint and Supply can provide standard operating procedures (SOP) in correct spray gun application fundamentals, color proofing, color sanding, basecoat blending, clearcoat application, final finishing, and many other procedures.

Paint Management System

Westside Auto Paint and Supply’s Paint Management System includes training in mixing, color matching, and spraying. Having a well-trained staff eliminates errors, increases productivity, and increases profitability. Westside can also provide a spray gun audit, monthly inventory valuation, and a material profitability report, as well as a paint technician to help troubleshoot problems and train staff.

Shop Layout and Design

Whether it is a new building or an existing space, you want to be sure the work being done flows smoothly and efficiently. Westside Auto Paint and Supply can scale a layout of your current facility and design a layout of the potential facility. A production flow model for your shop would also be developed to help cycle time improve.

Demonstrations and Training

Want to see how the paint products work? Looking for a change in the type of system being used? Do you need “refresher” training? With our new Demo Trailer, Westside Auto Paint and Supply can bring the mixing system to your location without unnecessarily disturbing your shop’s space. Equipped with a full mixing bank, Westside can help you and your personnel determine if Cromax Pro (waterborne), or Cromax (Chromabase) would be beneficial to your shop prior to purchasing, or show a painter a new or better technique to use when spraying, etc.

Additional training is available through Axalta. Local Axalta training facilities are located in Plymouth, Michigan, Lionville, Pennsylvania and Grove City, Pennsylvania.
